EASD Honorary Membership 2025

The Board invites EASD members to submit the name of an individual for consideration of lifetime Honorary Membership 2025.

For your nomination, the following criteria have to be fulfilled:

Nominated individuals should typically have retired from their career (e.g. should no longer head an organisation except for an honorary position)
Nominated individuals should have made a relevant and substantial personal contribution to the field of diabetes
Nominated individuals should have made a continuous and substantial contribution to the Association.

To propose a potential Honorary Member, please submit a brief biography of the individual you want to nominate, including:

Reasons for granting Honorary Membership

EFSD welcomes applications for the following diabetes research programmes

EFSD and Sanofi European Diabetes Research Programme on Autoimmunity in Type 1 Diabetes

Application Deadline: 15 May 2025

Research programme aimed at improving understanding of any aspect of autoimmunity in type 1 diabetes, its pathogenesis, screening and monitoring, its clinical course and its interventions.

EASD Albert Renold Travel Fellowship Programme

Application Deadline: 17 June 2025

Travel fellowship to enable scientists and clinicians to travel and stay at other institutions in order to learn specific techniques or clinical skills required for the advancement of their diabetes research project.

EFSD and JDS Reciprocal Travel Research Fellowship Programme

Application Deadline: 1 July 2025

Fellowship to encourage collaborative research in the field of diabetes by enabling scientists from Japan to travel to Europe or its associated countries and vice versa.

EASD awards prestigious prizes to international diabetes experts and promising research talents. Prize recipients deliver an award lecture at the EASD Annual Meeting.

Training and education in clinical diabetes and its complications is a core priority of EASD. Our activities include hands-on educational courses as well as online learning programmes.
